This bubbly, light-hearted couple made our design dreams come true. When the bride told us her favorite colors were pink and orange, we went to work creating a one-of-a-kind design that blended her whimsical aesthetic with the upscale & timeless elements of Omaha's Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel.

Guests were first introduced to the bold color palette through the invitation suite. The main colors of pink and orange were incorporated both in the ink and paper colors. An unexpected chartreuse envelope tied everything together, while the scalloped edge of the details card hinted at the playfulness of the event design.

The ceremony was held in the top floor ballroom of the hotel. Potted petunias filled the venue's fireplace, a nod to the couple's dog, Petunia. We kept the ceremony floral simple, opting for ombre arrangements that could easily be transported in the elevator and repurposed in the main floor reception space.

Following the ceremony, guests could grab the couple's signature drink to sip on while they waited for the elevator to take them down to the main level for cocktail hour. The cocktail hour bar (a.k.a. Petunia's Bar) featured a custom bar front - an enlarged version of artwork created by the mother of the bride.

Inside the dining room a large installation above the head table took center stage. The bride's love of whimsy came through in the orange pinwheel linens on each table. Bright pink dinner menus with a scalloped edge harkened back to the invitation suite. We intentionally chose ivory & gold flatware and Diamond Back chairs in a natural wood to compliment the lighter beige tones of the ballroom. Centerpieces and the hanging installation relied on local floral to bring pops of color and depth. We leaned on blooms such as poppies and amaranthus for a modern touch, while roses added a traditional element.

Following dinner, guests moved back out into the foyer for dancing, cake, and cotton candy spun on site. We can't imagine a more perfect day for this real-life Barbie and Ken!
